Axle straps

Right then I am about to buy some new axle straps because some daft bugger nearly cut all the way through one with an angle grinder...dont know who that was ahem... just double checking with you good folk that these are the right buggers for my LWB series 3.

Thanks chap. A lot of folk have been saying they dont have them on their Land Rovers now and its better for off roading with more clearance!

Now im in a bit of a quandary as to whether I should bother buying them anyway!

When we had our series it never had axle straps. You could see where they were supposed to go, so we bought it some. The bolts holding the remains of the old ones wouldn't undo and the heads sheared off. After we'd succeeded in snapping off screw extractors in the remaining stumps we gave up on that job altogether and the straps were never fitted. My excuse is that I was only 23 at the time and thought screw extractors might actually do what they were supposed to do. They were however considerably tougher than any of the drills we had available at the time.
