After 2 weeks of thinking that auto box was leaking around the casing, I have spent some time tonight t find its the seal between the Autobox and IRD

Is this common ?

Does it need box out or just IRD

Are seals available & is it a seal in the IRD or autobox

Its red autobox fluid thats leaking but only when driving, nothing when stood on tick over

Looking at the shaft that joins the two there is a small 2mm hole that looks like a breather, could it be coming from that

I am aware its had a new autobox fitted recently before my time but i cannot find out where

Haynes manual is crap for autobox section

Any help appreciated

If you have been driving for sometime and just encountered the leaks, it is very much either gearbox oil seal, Gasket or Gear/Engine oil sensor bolts tightening fault. I have a case of gearbox oil leak at a very early mileage, and replaced gearbox my self , after changed the gasket without goods during the 1st attempt.

I have just bought it and noticed the leak immedatley

Within 300 yards of a cleaned off gearbox its streaming out but not on tick over and it comes from the shaft that joins the auto box to IRD

Clean red oil
