Can someone tell me where i can check and fill my auto box with oil.

it is a series 1, 1995 (N) reg auto ES.

While i have you, does anyone have a cruise control vacum pump (the one by the jack at the front) for sale ?

And why do you need to put the key in the back door to open it, why does the button sink down when you try to open the door ?

Little bits like these things make all the difference.

cheers in advance.
Gary.

hi
using the dip stick on the left hand side of the engine, should have a yellow knob on the dip stick.

Check oil level when cold, start engine and put gearbox into drive then back to park, then dip oil, top up through the same pipe BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVER FILL GEARBOX.

back door might need a new spring, do a search on this forum as i have read about this problem before.

Also green oval on back door comes off easily with a small screwdriver, once it's off blast a load of WD40 in there, wiggling handle, button etc.Usualy cures a lot of rear door problems.

Is this the same for the TD5? I believe you have to remove a little plug right under the car to check the auto box oil on a TD5. This (above) sounds like a much more sensible setup.
