thanks normal mate, i have few mates with the same sort of set up, the spring normally pops out of position when u get a bit of a twist and the cone just helps it slot back into position thats what the cones for

Ok enough joking around I know exactly how it works, but when mine dislocates from the cone it comes back in between the cone and the tyre and if that goes wrong ill end up with -1 tyre

im pretty sure theres some crowd that do dislocation cones with hooks on them to catch the spring and stop it from going outside of the cones path?

Makes no odds if spring is attached to one or the other as the angles are the same

Hello mate I've been having the exact same problem, cones will relocate springs, but on extreme articulation the spring pops out and goes between tyre and cone.
I've just invested in some 'competition dislocation cones' from Gwyn Lewis, with hooks on the end, which catch the last ring on the spring, so they can't drop out completely. They're also a tad longer than my current ones. I've not put them on yet, but they'll resolve the issue. Hope this helps!!
Sorry that's not true. Far fewer people have a problem with axle mounted cones that with chassis mounted cones, myself included. I'm not going to bother to try to explain why, truth be told I've never put any thought into it, but it's what happens.
If you must stick with chassis mounted, get some gwyn lewis hook ones or devon 4x4 profiled that are designed to catch the spring better. As above however, I would recommend axle mounted cones with the spring retained at the chassis end. I have QT services cones and they have been spot on so far.

I'm running a lot of his gear,
Dislocation cones will work the same axle or chassis is symmetrical,, weather it be top or bottom gwyn or d44 both know there stuff
This is mine with Gwynns kit on.
I'll find a pic and post it off my ipad I'm sat on a beech on honeymoon at present

Seen a few people running them without issues. Not sure on their shock/arm set up though...
And yeah, certain people can be - only a bit of banter though, fed up of people asking the same questions I guess - but it can be a pain in the ass trying to search beforehand though as people can ask the same question many different ways so you may never come across the question you want the answer too. Which is why theres damn near always a question about 'what wheels fit my defender' haha but that's just the nature of forums!
Would be easier to just answer the question than be unhelpful though!
Yep with some different axle mounts so gain abit more over the normal set up with 16's.
Works very well..
Just gots sort the front out abit more now
