Argh!! Pinhole in radiator.

Damn. Lost enough coolant yesterday to cause the coolant level light to go a flashing. ( great thing, that light)

Found a weep in my radiator, nearly at the top of the tank. A new radiator is going to cost more than I paid for the car!

Try a couple of packets of 'CeeLit' in rad. It's cheap and it works.

I've been searching the forum and the web on opinions about stop leaks and it seems that most folks say to stay away from them.

How long have you used the stuff?

Stopleak or Radweld will keep it going for a while. Perfectly safe to use.

When I got a weepy rad in another car I used "liquid metal" around the outside of the leak (after cleaning up the area and slightly scoring it to provide a key) the repair lasted two years until I sold the car on. I've always been against putting gunk into cooling systems to repair leaks.

Been using it with no problems in almost every make of car you can think of for the last 50 years. (Taxi repair garage).
