Ive just had to put brake shoes back on after replacing front wheel cylinders as described in haynes there are 2 steady posts , 1 either side , it looks as if shoes just rests on them , there isn't a hole that lines up with them , is that right ? , also they are supposed to have bushes which they don't have , is that an issue ?, shoes seem quite secure with the 2 springs , just want to make sure all is safe for family , never had problem with brakes only leaking cylinders
Thanks

That's right, one end of the shoe is slotted onto the wheel cylinder and the other side of the shoe is held in position by the spring and the slots/ holes so that the shoe pivots onto the drum to brake and then returns when the pressure is removed.

Neil this is the setup for a 1974 swb series 3 . Yours may vary depending on year so use this as a rough guide only!Hope these help!!
Sorry cant upload pictures??
FINALLY LOL

Thanks both , set up is different to pictures but thanks anyway I appreciate it , 1983 swb , front , there are 2 cylinders , one top and one at bottom , managed to get the shoes on after replacing cylinders , springs are nasty , you have to put an unbelievable amount of force into pushing springs back , and it also took ages for some reason to get brake line to screw into cylinder took about 1 hr, the thread for some reason wouldn't take in back of the cylinder and just kept going round and round , anyway saved £40 labour , learnt something and still have all my fingers although very grazed .

Thanks
