Does anyone know if the A frame arms on a 300tdi are the same as the post 2003 models?

On later models the upper mounts are welded to the chassis, whereas older one have mounting plates with three bolts. My galvanised chassis has the 300tdi engine mounts but the rear is the same as the post 2003 with welded mounts so I'm now wondering if my arms will fit?

Mine's a 2006 and has bolt on mounts. I've just Dinitrol-ed the underside of a friend's 2004 model and that had bolt on mounts. So if they went over to welded brackets it must have been after 2006.

I did hear that some of the galvanised chassis makers were doing ones with the lugs welded on the relevant cross member, but looking at the websites of Richards, Marsland et al it's hard to tell.

Don't know if the arms are the same but the bushes aren't.

I fitted a 3-year old TDCi 90 rear axle to my 1986 90 a few months ago and thought I would use the later arms (the axle had covered a very low mileage and everything was like new) but having removed my old arms I discovered that the bushes & bolts were different sizes so I am currently running with the old A-frame & bushes.

Thanks Litch, thats very interesting. It suggests I may need to replace my A frame arms. I don't suppose you still have the arms you didn't use?

Certainly have but when I have a spare few minutes I was going to compare early & late bushes to see if it is just the inner sleeve that is a different size or the whole arm (just haven't got around to it yet), if the arms are the same I was going to re-bush the new(er) arms and then swop them over one day.

No problem, just thought if you didn't need them I would take them off your hands. If you do get a chance to check I would be very interested to find out if they are the same arms just different bushes.
