Apart from Ashcroft Transmissions who else do you recommend?

He runs a great little Land Rover garage in Lincolnshire and stuff can be sent on pallet!!
If you ring or PM him he will help and try to do to your budget - Not every one wants there gearbox painted!!!
And yes he only uses Timkin bearings!!!!

Well he recondition my R380 for 110 CSW which had new bearinsg and layshaft. I couldn't be happier. I chose not to post but travelled from Folkestone in kent and met him atr his garage where he did all the work with me helping in 3/4 of a day. He had a really bad back and could hardly move but still did not let me down.

Not had a chance to phone anyone the day and I've a Mess meeting tonight , so gonna get pished:rolleyes:

Only problem is I cant really afford to have ma defender off the road for more than say a week so hence the reason I was looking at the recon/exchange route.

If I may add to this - James has been a star in my on-off diff failed/not issues. Good advice and an all round gent - I shall be headed his way when it is rebuild time. A
