Series 3 Anyone near Blackburn happy to help me out?

Hi all,

I've found what is a perfect Series 3 for me (judging by the images) on ebay. It is factory LHD, which is a must for me and the seller has been very helpful. Is there anyone near Blackburn willing to go and view it for me to see if it really is as described? I'm out of the UK for another two weeks and worried it my go beforehand. My main points of concern are that the VIN is corroded/missing on the chassis/bulkhead. I would want to export it and the authorities over here are very picky.

not keen on that camo finish but that is one sweet looking truck, if it was rhd I would be seriously considering thinking about becoming interested in possibly buying it.

I've reserved it until the weekend when the seller will send me the chassis pics. Hopefully it will be mine soon

Im not sure the chassis will have had the number stamped on it for military use.

neither am I so I've asked the seller to send me pics. If its not stamped I'm gonna have to walk away as it would cause headache when registering abroad.

Tou could stamp it yourself thus......................

I doubt anyone will give a flying.

I've given that a thought, though I'd probably need some special tools? I tried stamping a Russian 4x4 I once had and my god the steel was really strong. Ended up being really wonky

my s1 is the same, probably stamped first thing Saturday after a heavy Friday night 18-21 pints for thruppence

If that's what the stamps look like I reckon I could stamp it myself in case the VIN isn't there. What size are the S3 letters, 8mm?

The S3 is growing on me, though I'm not particularly keen on the camouflage paint job. Will probably repaint it...read loads of posts for DIY paint jobs. What would be the era correct green colour? I've had a look on paintman.co.uk and didn't realise there were so many shades of green

Just google images of series3 paint swatch. Not so many options if your going to go traditional.
