Yes.. I can make up brake pipes and have done for years; but...
I either have the wrong copper pipe - or the plastic clips are Sh1te.
I know Automec do kits for Landys, but I haven't found any for the Freebie 1 (SWB TD4 2003).
Or does anyone have the ideal Copper Pipe replacement size.
I ask because....
I haven't started yet; but I have my engine out, and thought NOW would be the time to do a full pipe replacement before one goes and it's wrapped around the back of the engine somewhere....

anyone????
Thanks Guys! (and girls)

hi mate

bleed nipples are M10 X 1.00mm pitch EXCEPT the larger nuts to the valve bock on the ABS modulator which are M12.

Brake pipe is 3/16" O.D. (Outside diameter)

bought mine on a roll, didn't find any kits available for the hippo either

Thanks guys...The stuff I have must be metric... works great, but doesn't want to stay in the clips.. i will get a couple of 3/16 rolls... Thanks again.

Its worth buying genuine lr chassis clips they are a tight fit to 3/16th

Get cupronickle/cunifer pipe , slightly harder to bend but nicer to work with and doesnt work harden as quickly / crack like copper

sorry I mistook what you were saying as many years ago I new a man who did this he just thought he could push the pipe in and it would stay there , and he used to put oil in his engine via the dip stick thank god he does not drive any more I dred to think what else he had done to his car.

lol - i think I was 6yrs old when I was told off for adding oil via the dipstick..... - yes 6yrs old..
my uncle owned a garage (still does) and he taught be the proper way of doing things....
Ironically; Cars..... they were the method used for teaching me to count, read, know my colours etc.
I could s[ray a car with a professional finish at the age of 12!!! - so you could say I have the required "know how".
But... bl00dy hell... someone who didn't flare the pipes.... now that is an extremely scary thought!!!

his driving all finished when he did this and got to the end of the road and did not stop that's as far as he got and thank god it was the side of a lorry that he hit and fortunately the lorry was in slow moving traffic. police were called as he was slightly injured and they took a look at the car and his points totalled up and he lost his licence , and he never drove again, thank god
