Hi all, Pete here 
Thought I'd better make my self known here after lurking for a while.
I bought my Land Rover 90 a year ago now, after my old fiesta was smashed up in a car park (may it rust in pieces). I decided to replace it with something completely different, and fancied a land rover. I used to maintain my fiesta myself so know one end of a spanner from the other, but I'm relatively new to landies and so learning all the time.
My 'White Elephant' is a 1988 County station wagon in pretty much original condition, and I'm planning to keep it that way (just to be different) but generally tidying it up slowly. The only thing that's really been changed are rear carpets and speakers to make it a little more respectable, plus a mudstuff rear door trim to replace the manky old one. Still got the original 19J engine in place, which has already blown its head gasket (at about 100k miles) but fingers crossed seems to be in reasonable shape after replacing it. Planning to keep it running if possible to retain the originality.
