alarm problem

well i went out today unlocked me freelander when i got back come to lock me car the alarm went off so tried again samr thing happened can anyone give me some advice on this please have had a prob with tailgate door is it a sensor prob:cool:
 
When you say the alarm goes off, do you mean one bleep as if so then it is a normal function when a door or the rear window is open to alert you that all is not well, and you say there is a problem with the tail gate, that may be the reason
