Hi,

I got hold of my Range Rover P38 last week, i do a lot of shooting, greenlaning and stuff and this is what i bought the p38 for as i wanted some comfort and it was really really cheap (750 quid - long story!) anyways i went greenlaning one day and went through a ford no deeper than half way up the wheels, but it all ended in tragedy!

I went through and it stalled, i didnt go fast or anything and i know how to go through fords as i have been off roading for quite a while now, but the A/C belt snapped, water got into the engine and somehow i ripped one of the air suspension pipes! So the suspensions collapsed, a/c doesnt work and ive got water in the engine!

Have reset the EAS after cleaning all the sensors and that pumped up ok, but i notice all the bags are perished so was thinking about converting to coils, but havent had much luck on finding any lifted suspension kits out there!

I put a new a/c belt on and she was ticking really bad, so took it to my local garage who are overhauling the injectors (they were on there way out anyway) so that should be ok now.

Also are winch bumpers available in the UK? Or Steering guards etc?

Thanks
Matt

Hi

Dealing with the EAS first, lots of people recommend sticking with the Air Springs as moving over to coils makes the rangie non standard and hence will effect insurance.

Seem to remember somewhere that the Air springs should be replaced every 100,000 or so and from the price you paid I am guessing it's well over that :).

If you are looking for lift from Air Spirings Arnott Version 3 air springs add a couple of inches easy would mean you would need to recalibrate but if it is height you are after a good way to go. Might even get away with it under existing insurance!

If you are looking at coils there are loads of lifting kits out there in all difference heights, look through some suppliers traditionally in Land Rover mags, not had experience with any but there are lots out there depending on your area too.

The same suppliers usually stock winch bumpers and similar under offroading or protection filters.

Hope this helps

Adam
