L322 Air suspension malarkey

Hi all.
A few months ago I had a leaky airbag. This was changed, along with the pump, ( I actually bought a second pump from another manufacturer which had been recommended to me, as a back for the future), and all was well.
A front ride height sensor was also changed in the same time frame
Occasionally it faulted, with all the lights on the toggle button going out and the '30mph' warning on the console. turn off and on and it was reset.
I had a diagnostic run on it and was told it was the reservoir valve block which was replaced.
All was well.
A few weeks later it failed again and I haven't been able to figure out what it is.
The pump runs for almost exactly 12 seconds, cuts out and the lights go out etc, this happens with both pumps.
A curious thing is that the car, if started without a pump at all does not fault on the suspension.
I've been told it could possibly be the solenoid, but this seems unlikely to me.

I lost my job a few months ago and hence am quite penniless and unable to really seek professional help, so any advice or pointer would be welcomed.

Are both the pumps the same make?
I can't remember on these if there another pump you can use but with an update for it?

Hi Mark, the other pump is a different make, from a German company, I actually tested it for a while and it worked fine, ( I'd heard about the update thing myself, and they assured me it wouldn't need one.
I'm not sure if I can actually name the company on here, but it seem to be made in much superior fashion to the OEM one.

Will either pump bring on the same problem?

Yes, the problem re-occurs with either pump, I should have made that clear.

So the pump works but run for longer than 12 seconds.
Is there air in the tank?
Without a real knowledge of that system I would start from the pump and work my way through the system.
Anything overly rusty.... Connections, do you have any diagnostics for it?
There may be a code in its memory for a repeat occurrence.

at this point neither pump runs for more than twelve seconds, with seems to indicate some fault feed back from a sensor.
System is completely devoid of air and I don't have any access to diagnostics, the fault, i.e. the precise timing of the failure at around twelve seconds seems so individual that I hoped someone might recognise the particular characteristics of it.

It's a shame you can't disconnect the pressure sensor and fool the system I to running for longer, if that is the problem. Sorry I can't be of any more help than that.. Hopefully àn l322 bod will come along.

Could really really do with codes read, not a clue without.

What error code is recorded in the air suspension control unit?

Thanks for all replies, I'm aware that without codes it's a bit impossible.
I was relying on the specific timing, i.e. the '12 seconds' of running compressor being a known part of a fault, particularly as it has happened with two different compressor.
I lost my job recently, and with the wife on reduced hours and having a second car, I can't justify spending anything on it at the moment.

I really appreciate the replies though.
