Hi, I would appreciate some advice. I am buying a Discovery 2 tomorrow, do they preform much better Chipped?
And if yes, is there a particular make/manufacturer to go for?

Well we have a disco 2 TD5 and if you ask me they are extremely underpowered unless you drive them ie keep them up at 1700 rpm and they are ok we bought ours so the wife could tow the horsebox with it but it does struggle compared to our touareg.we are looking at getting it chipped which should make a massive difference,we are going to use Bell auto services and i am lead to believe he does the chips for other companies as well ie twisted.

Turbo doesn't come in till about 1700+ .. :)

135bhp and 2+ tonnes plus a horsebox was never going to be a racer.

If you get it up to 160bhp or around there it would be much more driveable and possibly more MPG as you're not kicking the hell out of it to get some poke. I'd be wary about going too far out on power, it is an underdeveloped engine and wile I've seen all sorts of bhp claims, it always comes at a price, either fuel economy or engine reliability.

V8 was always the best option if you can afford the consumption, although I'm happy with ours on LPG towing 3.5tonnes behind.
