This only my 2nd post, but I must say Im loving the Disco despite the niggles
2000 series 2 V8i ES
I think Ive sorted most of what I consider to be minor problems, so far Ive had a full service, replaced both coil packs and plug leads due to a intermittent misfire and fitted 2 new lambda sensors for the new MOT. All in all the car isnt running too bad but it still sometimes struggles with a lack of power under heavy load so the MAF is the next thing on the to do list, am I barking up the wrong tree?
The one thing left causing me a bit of concern is a water/coolant leak from the back of the engine right side. I am losing quite a lot of coolant, about 1.5 litres every 2 to 3 days and once the engine is warm and the coolant pressure has built up it is pretty much a constant drip from the same place. It looks from the best I can tell to be coming from under the coil pack. And from what I have read on here I was thinking it may be the lower inlet manifold gasket (valley gasket) there is no sign of oil in the water or vice versa no smoke and no overheating so I dont think its the head gasket but am I right?
Could the 2 faults be related? Is it struggling under load because of the gasket?
Any advice welcome
