Bloody Traffic Regulation Orders. One of our favourite short green lane
tracks has been closed off due to Fly-Tippers. Bloody buggering buggers,
I'm really ****ed off now. It's only a short track, maybe a couple of miles
altogether, but it went to some really quiet and peaceful areas, but I won't
say exactly where it is.

See my newly (just now) created blog, the fight will continue. :-(

Can't you get a key to the gate?
Some BC's use the same key for all their gates/ parks/ open spaces/
allotments so if you know someone with an allotment in your area check to
see if his key fits the padlock on "your" gate. If it does, ask him to get
another from the Council (Say he's lost his, his wife wants her own...),
there will only be a small charge made. :)

Indeed, however TROs are usually temporary as far as I'm aware, is it
the TRO that prevents you from accessing the land or are they
proposing to keep the gate up and locked but without changing the
status of the lane? And if so what is their justification for that?

I'd suggest getting in contact with your local GLASS representative,
they're quite good at such things and may be able to clarify.

www.glass-uk.org then go to Contacts->Area Reps, and while you're at
it why not join up if you've not already done so ;-)

As I'm the local Primary School caretaker I might even have a key ... ;)

But thanks for the suggestion.

They did say that it is likely to be temporary, but they couldn't say how
temporary. The chap couldn't tell me whether temp meant a week or a year or
a decade .. But he has come up almost trumps and given me details of a few
more lanes I didn't know about so I tend to believe him and will probably
comply with the order. The justification was from the local Community First
initiative seeing the fly-tipping problem and doing what they can to 'move
it along'. It sems they recognise it is a temporary measure, but methinks
they're scared to open it up too soon, 'cos they know the pikies will be in
straight away it's opened up.

I intend to. It was only today, after hitting the end (apparently) that I
decided it was an issue worth fighting.

I intend to join after this weekend. From this afternoon I've had no time
to stir anything else up, but come Tuesday next week, all guns wil be
blazing again .. ;)

Thanks for the suggestions.
