From what i have read you push it in as far as it goes and the ring will do the rest.

Hi, yes ive seen that, my vehicle had a new sensor (fitted before I bought it) and a new sleeve,but I am not sure that the sleeve is fitted correctly,therefore the sensor could be too far away from the ring. I thought if I could measure it ,I would know.

If you can get it out in one piece you'll be lucky! had to change one of mine and had to totally destroy it to get it out!

Hi, with it being new it has come put quite easily. I would take out another one , to check the gap, but I am afraid it would break. Thats why i asked the question.

Oh right. When i did mine I just pushed it in as far as it would go then drove slowly for a mile or so and let it adjust... Seems to be working fine now.. What make did you go for?

Push sensors in until they touch reluctor rings. Gaps will set when wheels turn.

Thanks, I will have to measure the depth from the top of the sleeve to the ring, to make sure that its in far enough to allow the sensor to touch the ring.

Is your car fitted with FTC2249 plastic adaptor sleeves. Or is the portion that the rubber seal fits over metal and part of the swivel hub?

Hi, the sleeve appears to be metal and the flange that holds the rubber is part of the hub

Then the sensor should reach the reluctor ring with ease. Some hubs don't have the metal flange so have a plastic insert to mimic it.
