Well the engine is in, exhaust fitted, just got a fan from ebay, so today wa the test drive day...

Plenty of power from the Daihatsu lump, great, so went for a drive, heard a 'ching' noise......

Fan had somehow clipped the lip at the base of the rad, and a blade snapped off, and you guessed it, ripped a hole in the rad...

Called the missus out to fetch us, she bought the spare Rad with her, so changed em over, removed fan, filled up with water and drove home, thankfully no damage to the engine...

But the Series rad I had bought last year from paddocks seemed too small, it fitted to all the bolt holes etc no probs. The spare Rad i had was deeper, and seems to be taller, its got Fomoco embossed on the top of it and the top hose is slightly more to the nearside than the series rad, and the bottom hose part is slightly larger dia, yet again it lines up with the bolt holes no probs, on this on the fan sits just nice, and it clears the bottom lip, so no chance of it catching again.... BUT the rad has a pin prick hole near the top so needs to be replaced... any ideas what this rad came off??? Such as a LWB rather than a SWB (Ive no idea)

FOMOCO if ah remember correctly is short fer FOrd MOtor COmpany so its unlikely to be a series one and its also unlikely that Ford would mark a bit destined fer a Landy with FOMOCO.

if its only a pin hole just slather it in aradite, so long as its not rotten it should last like that. Me jag rad has a small 'take off' on it fer the expansion tank and that snapped off about 4 years ago. its bin held on with aradite ever since

Thats what I was thinking, Ford Motor Co etc...

But the frame on the front of the rad fits the series front end, spot on. So what vehicle could the rad have come from??

Will get some araldite tomoz and try that, cheers Slob.
