Hi All,
A neighbor of mine has just bought a A38 RR. everything worked on it
when he picked it up, until he got home. doing a 3 point turn down the
street it stalled and everything went dead. after looking under the
bonnet, the battery had been replaced but never fastened down and had
now moved and pulled the earth lead off,

he re connected it and it started up as normal.....however.... since
this little incident....just about every warning that you can have is
on! the sunroof is open, the windows are open etc, all come up on the
dashboard, and the air suspension has stopped working, which it did
before the earth lead came off.

it sound to me like the ECU has got it's knickers in a twist and i've
left him disconnecting the battery for 1/2 hour to see what that does,
but i thought i would ask on here.

If the system needs resetting or interrogating, is there any
independents in the Sheffield area, able to do this?

i welcome your comments.

cheers

Gary

Gary,

When the battery is disconnected on a P38 all the windows, sunroof,
seat mirror memory etc need to be reprogrammed,
To do the widows simply lower & then close them in one continuous operation.
It will then say window set, same with sunroof. Remember to tilt & slide.

You'll also need to resync the key remote. Older models are a bit more
fickle.
On mine you open car using key, put key in ignition & that it.

Hand book explains it all if in doubt.

Suspension should be ok, Unless it had a fault already on it.
Try raising & lowering. It may need
a testbook reset tho.

Gerry.
