Decided to take the roof off my series 3 today as it lovely out. It's actually quieter with the roof off!!!!
I didn't have to shout at my mate and he didn't have to shout at me!!
WOW!!

yeah , a lot better int it, my truck cabs quieter when open, must work like an amplifier and boost the volume. think it reduces the vibration too.

Weird, I have never had to shout at my passenger for them to hear me, it's relatively quiet in mine! It would be nice to have the top off for the summer, but I can't be bothered!

When you take the roof and door tops off then fold your windscreen down you WILL change your mind :D I have and mine has not even moved with them off :p

Well it's a bit cheeky what I did, but it worked. I've got proper inertia belts with that bracket on the roof. Took the roof off and you know the little L shaped bits of metal that bolt down the front of the sides, I left them on the car and attached the reels straight to them. Looked a bit daft but i worked!!
Slightly bodged I admit but it worked.

I took mine off last year and it has not been back on the kids love it.
I did the same as you on the belts.
Enjoy the summer.
Tony

I don't really fancy lap belts, rather not have one at all!!! My inertia 3 point jobs I got out of a VW polo that a mate was breaking and I just bent up some 5mm steel brackets to attach the buckles to the original mounting points. Works a treat!
