I have just jumped into the world of series Land Rover ownership! I feel the job lists is never going to be completed and a little overwhelmed at the prospect of tinkering and prayer to keep my new Series III 88” running sweet.
He’s got a lovely 2286cc Petrol engine, and in genuinely great nick for a 45 year old vehicle, however so far I think I’m needing a new battery, I’m having trouble with the doors actually locking, the brake lights seem to be constantly on (which could be the source of the battery problem)
I’m an Ex Royal Marine who drove Landys and Pinzgauers throughout my career and thought the experience of carrying out first parades and completing A jobs would prepare me or a life of vehicle maintenance. However I’m feeling very in the deep end of owning my own Landy without a VM to go to when things stop working.
I’ve retrained as a sparky so I’m hoping that will come in useful with fixing any wiring problems.
Biggest problem I see right now is how to break my owning a landrover that is older than I am to my wife.
Any help in any of my problems would be greatly appreciated.
