Hi

Is there a pressure switch that does not let the system cut in if it is too low? Does anybody know what the static pressure should be? There is gas in and registers 20 PSI on the guage but the compressor will not cut in. I assume it should be higher:confused:. Does anybody know what the pressure should be on the low pressure side of the system with the compressor running?

Thanks Tony

Thanks Dann. More gas then! Does the compressor not run when the pressure drops below a certain pressure?

Correct. This to protect the compressor from damage as the special lubricating oil (PAG) is carried around the system by the gas (refrigerant) and the aircon wouldn't work very well anyway at low pressure.
