Hopefully I won't be posting much asking for help!
I purchased my Disco after it had been SORN for over a year. I noticed the air con wasn't working so I took it to have it recharged. They checked for leaks and it had none so they charged the system. ( it had 0g refrigerant and 2ml oil) it was initially running at a very very high psi, I think it was somewhere near the 500-600 mark. We believe this may have been down to a sticky/blocked pressure relief valve. It settled down and worked for a day or two and suddenly stopped.
I looked under the bonnet and to my surprise, I've now got lots of oil and very fine metal filings sprayed all around the compressor. Now I'm assuming the clutch bearing/compressor has had it but I'm concerned I've suffered the 'black death'. Is there a fairly simple way of checking?
Thanks for any help.
