Hi to all,
As my title says I would like to say a big hello to all on this forum, I am a mad petrol head and have had many motors in my short driving life, I decided not long ago that I wanted a RR P38 to cruise around in the winter months ahead, It was really an excuse so I didn't have to take my other toy out in the inevitable snow we are bound be experiencing shortly, so I went out an bought a 1998 RR 2.5 dse, before I took the leap I spoke to few mates who are mechanics and they all told me to stay well clear, after looking on the web and seeing all the "common faults" these cars have I was a little put off, but still went to look at some anyway, I knew I was still goin to get one, , I looked at about 8 before getting my one, it was within my budget, not to bad'a nick but needed some work doing, Im not bad with a spanner so started to tackle the list of issues this weekend.
With the help of this forum I have replaced the leaky O Rings, replaced all fluids, she's had a full service including gearbox oil and filter change, steering damper and drag link arm and Ive got a new set of RR sport 19"s to go on aswell, so a big thank you to all the knowledgeable people on here, I hope to meet some of you one day to discuss further problems no doubt.
Pete
