96 dse

hi i have a 96 dse just yesterday i was driving n i had 2 kick down but for some reason it woodnt go over 3000 revs wen i took my foot of the gas it changed no problem when i got home i left it to cool down then checked gearbox oil but it was ok if i drive it normally its fine but if i have to accerlarate hard it just sticks at 3000 revs ne ideas cheers
