There's someone advertisin in LRO will do a chassis swap for a galvie for 2 and a half grand - seeing as the chassis cost is half that, plus all new shocks and springs and brake lines, not to mention the hundred or so man hours it would take, i dint think this was too bad a deal. ANyone got any thoughts on it?

chassis will be about £1300 if usin richards that leaves 1200 squids for the rest, this sounds good, but depends on how thorough they are with fixing stuff that may crop up,i just done mine myself and cleaned and painted everthin and also a bit of welding on axles, nowt major but its little things like that will take more time and may incur extra cost, its worth inspecting your bulkhead thoroughly too and change this at same time whilst it is apart as paint hides a multitude of sins.

I agree, and when i put the thread up i was a bit worried about offending you and your superb effort to do yours which i have full respect for...problem i have is mainly a lack of nollij but also it's me daily driver and i need it day in day out and the chassis probly only got another coupla years left so can't afford it to be in bits for ages - i would love to do a proper chassis and bulkhead rebuild but can't justify it at the mo, but i agree, i thought this looked like quite a good compromise.

I guess if it's what they do day in day out, they can cut down on the manhours and still do a reasonable job - unlike us halford toolkit special mob!

I have your fred marked as a favourite though and that's my ultimate dream, but it might not happen this time round!
