Hi all,

Landrover 90 300tdi will start and run and drives normally, but then will stop accelerating and start ticking over, the engine is strong and healthy.
Is there a fuel switch or something similar on the fuel that could be causing this.

Thanks in advance,

Andy.

Hi and :welcome2:

Not sure what 'drives normally' and 'won't accelerate' means in practice.

Could be lift pump, fuel filter needs changing or air in fuel lines

Alternatively could be turbo related - either the turbo itself or split/delaminated hoses

You might want to post this in the Defender section - more chance of guys that know far more than me finding it and offering better advice!

'Wont Accelerate' put foot to floor and nothing happens, it pulls the accelerate arm on the pump but it doesn't do anything, sometimes it will work fine. when it does work the engine is fresh and eager. Not smoke or soot, its just lack of response from the throttle.

Ah

All that I said, and possibly fuel pump timing as well, but less likely if not smoking.

Could be blocked or faulty injectors, but suspect less likely

Lift pump would be favourite place to start.

Post again on the Defender section - there truly are guys that know loads more than I ever will
