Hi all passed a 4x4 sales place today called something like 'Silvertide 4x4'
but cant find anything on the web, I'm a bit pushed for time so wondered if
anyone could enlighten me. I was heading from Manchester towards Sheffield
on the A628 passing through Thurlstone and Penistone. The place was on the
left hand side as we passed it.
Thanks in advance.

You know how some words get stranger the longer you look at them? I once
spent about an hour sitting in Penistone railway station waiting for a
connection. After 5 minutes, all the station signs said "Penis Tone" to me,
and I've never been able to see the word since without splitting it the
wrong way - in my head at least.

Sorry, no idea about the 4x4 place.

Thats nothing, when I was towing through the Midlands a few months ago,
I went through a place called "Bell End" and then down the road was
"Licke End", made the journey alot more cheerful!

LOL - Rosy-fingered Dawn and all that. There was a "Gropecunt Lane" in
London (an alley off Cheapside*) but I doubt Our Ken would allow the signs
to be - um, er - erected for fear of offending someone.

*Rumour has it that the name was changed in the 19C to either Grub Street or
the wonderfully ironic Threadneedle Street.
