I will do. But I have just been out in her for a 40 mile run and she's nice and warm now.
I will start her up tomorrow morning and try and get a recording of the noise.
I shall be highly embarrassed if you all say "They all sound like that".
My last one (also a 4.6) didn't make the noise so it sticks out like a sore-thumb to me.

If it was bottom end the noise would never subside.

Sounds like a tappet to me..

Dump a litre of ATF in the oil and run it for a few miles or hours in my case , then change it..

Mine had a little rattle.

The ATF cut through all the shyte, add to that a nice oil change..

Pucker now.

Ok, here is a video. Poorest possible quality from an action camera (of course).
Was just going to go round the block, but a third cop-car screamed up my street so I followed it to find out why.

Can't hear a thing, buy some ear plugs. Nice car, same colour as mine, same seats but mine has a proper engine in it.

Thanks for listening to it Tony. I was afraid the "noise" would not be easily caught by an action cam.

Think his clock is wrong.

Yup, the action CAM is on last Summers-time.

You can hear it in the beginning, when Dan blips the throttle it is very audible.

Also when he drives off, if ya listen hard enough ya can hear it.

I thought a bit lower in the engine like a camshaft end bearing.... You need to get someone there with you to hear it @DanClarke

Most recent excursions are without the initial tappety-tap noise that necessitated the original post.
I noticed this today while taking a short drive. Sludge in tappet valve has shifted/loosened it seems.
