300tdi serpentine belt tensioner

Why do I never learn? This is the third time I'm changing the bearing of a 300tdi serpentine belt tensioner and the blasted thing keeps squeaking, only to change the whole thing a few weeks later. Has anyone else experienced this? What else squeaks apart from the blasted bearing?

Tin't the bearing. Its the 2 halves of the tensioner rubbing together.few drops of 3 in 1 oil on the seam where they join. seems to cure it for a bit.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it out. I know that I'll end up buying a tensioner but if i can hold it offuntil after christmas i'll be grateful.

cheap bearing make? is the tensioner worn and causing failure?

I tried the penny trick (1 euro cent in my case). It still chirps a bit especially for the first 10 minutes or so then quietens down. Seems to have done the trick but I'll change the tensioner anyway.
