300tdi or TD5

Any advice welcome.The 200tdi Defender has served me well but with a worsening back a little more comfort is needed.The budget will stretch to a late Discovery 300tdi or an early TD5,but the question is which one?Is one more reliable than the other?
Also is the build quality better on the TD5s or does the chassis still rot as on the older models?Thanks for any info........
