300tdi or td5

Hi all I in need off a 130 but the only decent one I can find in my price range is a td5 but I have only ever had 300tdi and was wondering what your thoughts are on the td5 has I have been told lots of different things about them

It's a great engine! You won't have any issues keeping up with traffic.

As with all Landies... If it's properly looked after; it'll treat you well for many miles. If you get one, get yourself a nanocom (or a friend with one). Consider it another tool in the box to help fix things. Don't let the sensors/electronics scare ya. It's not that bad at all... I've had one for the last few years; and it's been fantastic.

You could always do a little search on here, it's been covered a million times.

Many folks on here champion the TD5, personally I like the 300TDI, I purposefully went for a 300TDI over the TD5. In fact I actually prefer my older 200TDI out of any of the engines. Certainly you will find the TDI engines more suited to the home mechanic.
