Am lookin for some help here now...
My 300 TDi, since i put it in, has had a couple of issues. When started, and the first couple of times you hit the turbo properly you get an ernormous cloud of thick white/greyish bluey kinda smoke - like loads of it. Once it has been run, its fine, just a faint smell of burnt oil.
It leaks oil outta the crank rear oil seal - the seal isn't very good and is probably gonna be replaced soon, but it also seems to be pressurising the crankcase. The breathers are fine, but there is oil going into the inlet through the breather pipe.
It does use a bit of water when its warm, but i think thats a leak not using it.
However, when warm there is a fair bit of steam that comes out with the oil cap off.
No emulisied oil, but then again it has been leaking out that fast that it may not be noticed.
What does everyone think - is this my head gasket? It had a brand new head fitted just over a year ago, i'm guessing the old one got too hot and warped, will this have damaged pistons, or do you think the gasket has gone again?
It appears to run and drive fine, lots of power etc, but im worried about this pressure in the crankcase, and the HUGE amounts of smoke when its started. All ideas welcome!
Ta all!
