Well my trusty old disco finally died on me on a long drive home.
First i thought the head gasket failed as it blew the expansion tank cap off. After getting it home i pulled the head to find that the cylinder head between cylinders 2-3 had been eroded away between the to exhaust valves.
Its too deep to skim unfortunately and i fear its the end on my disco. Im now thinking about getting a new head hoping the fault was just down to failed head gasket or valves passing.
Any other thoughts on the matter issues i might have missed etc would be good before I buy a new head. Thanks for any help.
