Hello All.

Done my timing belt the other week,

all is good ( fingers crossed ) , however after about 500 miles have heard this metallic tinkling noise, on investigation it is the crank pulley mud cover / cap that sits behind the crank pulley. when I took it apart originally it was tight on the crank pulley.

Now it is loose and rattling around the crank shaft.

This leads me to a few questions which I am hoping the brains on here can help with.

1) Is there an easy way to get it to stop rattling ?
2) or do I need to strip down and replace the damn thing?
3) If I leave it rattling except for the noise is there likely to be any problems?
4) is it meant to stay with the crank shaft or the timing cover.

Cheers

neil
