quick question peeps, dose the belt tensioner lose tension over time at all?

just put a new belt on and my battery light comes on now and then as though it's sliping,so i took it off and made sure there was no grease/oil anywhere but no change!!

thank's

paul

yup all routed corect, just gonna check see if i've disturbed owt on the alternetor when i did the p gasket and water pump, tis more a question out of curiosity really.

Have you fitted the right belt?

7PK1595 for the big alt pulley. ERR5911/7PK1580 is for the small alt pulley. The big alt pulley is 61mm. Can't remember the other size.

If you have one that is too long then the tensioner may not be able to take up all the slack.

yep err5911,it's exacly the same length as the old one,i did think that myself at first but ckecked it before leaving the shop.
