hi all

i plan to replace the timing belt and bearings in the old girl as i had her almost two years and i have replaced a few bits and bobs, i would like some advice on what i need as i have never done one on a landy before

brought a cambelt and tensioner bearing set and getting the idler bearing and case gasket for the job and have locking pins.

is there anything else i should look to replace while i have the front end appart?

she is a 300tdi edc auto with 180,000 on the clock im changeing it as i found a few things that were bodged this last year like the seals in the rear dif and transfer box while i had her on the ramps wax oiling her and i dont want to risk the engine as she runs sweet and dont leak (well not from the engine :))

then i can get on with the rest of the bodges to the old girl.

thanks for your advice

good practice to remove the alternator/power steering mounting bracket and replace the "P" gasket whilst you are working on the front of the engine, they always leak and cause big problems when you least expect them!!

ok will replace that as well.

thats why i ask now as most bits comeing off round that area any way.

is it worth ajusting the rockers once i have done the belt as they weare through time dont they?

thanks for your input
