Hi Everyone,

I own a 300tdi mk1 1995 and trying to improve the performance a bit has anyone removed the cat from the front pipe ? if so how replace the front pipe or cut and weld a section back in

Removed mine a couple of weeks ago, the engine revs a little easier now but not by a massive amount. The engine is now a little louder and the exhaust note a bit more throaty. I havn't noticed any increase in smoke.

I used the early disco pipe which is the same minus the cat (still has the flexi section), you can use a defender front pipe without the flexi which is alot cheaper and is still a straight swap.

Have a look at LR4x4 - The Land Rover Forum > Disco/Defender downpipe change

Hope this helps,
Jon.

Thanks for the the imformation I will order a new front pipe and do away with the cat and see how it runs.
Once again this forum has come up trumphs with helpfull information it's a joy to log on to landyzone
