300 tdi alternator

Last week my alternator broke rear mounting off ,swung forward and sheared bottom bolt off leaving half of it behind.Been freezing my nuts off today trying to get it out.Tried stud extractor but seems to be seized.Tried bigger 6mm extractor still nothing.Might have to dill it out completely.Would I be able to just put long bolt with short thread like top one in with locking nut or would I have to cut new thread for larger diameter bolt?

If yer careful, you should be able to drill it out an then re-tap the same size as original.
I had exactly the same problem last week.
I managed to get mine out by cutting a slot in the end of it with a dremmell type tool, then using a big fook-orf screwdriver to turn it.
Worked for me.
