2nd hand batteries

Hi folkes,

I'd like to get a couple of batteries - one for my landy (which is still in resto mode) and one for a small diesel tractor as a thanks to the in-laws, neither have to be anything special, but I wondering if it is worth it?

Do any of you use an online second hand retailers, or use local scrappers - there must be a lot of unwanted ones from broken up cars..?

I've used second hand batteries from the scrappers before - deal is, if it's dead i just go back and swap for another.

That said, batteries are so cheap, might as well just buy a new descent one for £100 than risk having to replace a £20 one in 3 months...
