2a gearbox problem

I have a problem with my 2a gear box it was jumping out of 4th gear on idle and now i am having the same problem with second, could someone advise me on my best option.

1. repair the gearbox myself, ( i will need information on how to do this and how much will it cost to referb and where to get the parts).

2. how much will it cost to have it referbished and where?

any help or info would be of great help.

hi i had the same problem with my series three so i am rebuilding it now its my first gearbox repair.
lots of cogs,its not that complicated once you strip it down, strip it all the way down or risk missing something like i did and have to start again.

Have u tried replacing yer detent balls n springs ? easy job u can do it with the box in place, just take the floor n tranny tunnel out, three bolts on the top of the box.

Even if it doesn't cure it, you've lost nothin as they cost about 5p each or somethin and it only takes an hour or so.
