Evening all.

I am due to take my defender for its first MOT with our main dealer and have never changed the pads; I suspect after 29000miles we will need some and I don't want LandRover to be the ones telling me so i want to change them before the MOT. Can you please help and advise as to which brake pads I should go for (Front and Rear will be needed), also Looking on the obvious auction site I can see sensors. Do i need new sensors when i replace the pads??

Many thanks in advance.

Mancub.

Hi, welcome to LZ, you may get moaned at for not introducing yourself but at least its not a question on tyres!

APEC are good, infact there are plenty of good pads, most factors will give you the choice on decent or cheap anyway.

Why are you still using the main dealer? Use a decent, recommended independent garage (that means not the cheapest back street place going) and they will be half the price, the main dealer will always be expensive!!

Thanks for the reply; I will introduce myself to the gang.

I have had untold issues with the 110 since buying it, thankfully everything has been covered under warranty including the recent clutch replacement and rear diff seal (for the 4th time). As she's still under warranty I want her to go through Westover (Paul from servicing has been great with us and he's like part of the family now). once through the first MOT I will use AL Services down here in Poole who look after my Disco but i wanted her to get through the first MOT whilst still JUST in warranty.

I've always done the minor works on the landrovers but have never had to do anything on the 110 TDCI and there is very little on the internet about them.

I'll have a squizz at the APECs.

Cheers for the advice.
