Hi everyone, I'm very new both here and to range rover ownership.
So... A week ago I bought my first range rover. A 2010 Vogue tdv8.
The issue, I picked up my range rover a week ago whilst working in the south of the UK, I drove it trouble free for five days over a hundred miles or so then on Saturday when I embarked on my 270mile trip back home to Yorkshire. 30 miles in whilst accelerating away from roadworks and over a very uneven surface the car went into limp home mode, traction control unavailable, parking brake unavailable, reduced performance notices all at once. I pulled over half a mile later turned the car off and on again and all the warnings had gone, the rest of the journey was just fine with no issues.
The car desperately needs the tracking sorted (booked in this week) and hasn't been serviced in over a year.
Could the misalignment of the wheels twinned with the service warning being on cause this?
The gearbox seems fine short of a slightly slower than usual change between 1st and 2nd which I am hoping a oil and filter change will solve.
Other than that the car has been serviced every year at the main dealer.
Any comments welcome.

My concern exactly
With the more modern Rangies a battery in less than "tip-top" condition throws up lots of false-positive errors.
Also, the newer ones like to soak the wiring looms in water in and around the sills or pour water into the electronic systems with specially designed "built-in-obsolescence" water placement features. But other than these minor inconveniences they are great cars.

This sounds promising, as far as I can tell the thing is sound and the mad warning light thing makes no sense. It's not been driven for a few months after being traded in and then sold again so I'm hoping it is just a glitch.
It's booked in for a full service, new boots, wheel alignment and gearbox oil flush which is by no means a small amount of money so I hope it's not a dead cat bounce

Welcome:)

does the place you getting the work done have diagnostics? Ask them to pull any codes and printout for you before they clear them and get back to the guys on here:)

No warranty from stealer?

good luck it will love you back one day:)

Gearbox oil flush is not always a good idea it can dislodge bits that are sitting harmlessly out of the way, normally just do an oil change run for a while do another then run again then change oil and filter and the correct oil must be used not any old generic stuff no matter what the garage say.

Yes they will check for error codes but they don't have the full kit so once it is out of the shop I will take a drive to the main dealer and get them to plug it in properly. I'm just using this mechanic to do the routine work to get it back up and running smoothly. I will of course use a specialist for any "land rover" work

My thoughts were that this could help with the slightly slow gear change, it's not been near a garage in 20k so I think it's a better idea than doing nothing as I don't have the service history. I have the service book which is all main dealer stamps but it shows no record of work done
