hi everyone new here, fast giving in to the family tradition of land rovers despite being a life time van driver and for the last five years van dweller. building a world class camper with an amazing autonomy level, wood fired heating, solar panels wind turbines that kind of stuff, after two transits i fell upon a beautiful (yes i know) but she is a beaut, ldv400 minibus. she is wide, long, comfy to drive, has air suspension which can be converted into a levelling system for nights on unlevel ground, but the peugeot engine (not even a turbo in this baby) what a bag of overheated smoky spanners it is and now im in the french lake district kind of stuck because from here on south it just gets hotter and hillier. having picked up the thread that sherpa engines fir into landrovers, why not landrover engines into sherpas, so here are my questions to anyone in the know and sympathetic to the cause.

if i take the transfer box off my bargain basement donor discovery, will the gear box marry up to the prop on the daf?

if not what prop flanges do fit the naked end of an lt77 box.

thirdly is it true that the sherpa late eighties version had the lt77 box in two wheel drive version and will the box off of that little van handle pulling my great beast about.

fourth and final, is there a conversion plate available to put the disco engine onto the box thats in there, presumeably peugeot sourced like the engine, not sure which one sings the loudest.

:) :)

Dunno. The LDV I had was a transit engined job. I know you can get a conversion to put a tranny engine into a landy. Best bet for ideas would seem to be that steve parker bloke he seems to do all sorts of conversion stuff.
