I cant help there then:( bleeding useless things.
Even more useless when damp is so bad , the sockets are actually sparking due to moisture  I've been sleeping in sitting room for 3 months. Don't want to move from area but rental properties are like gold dust, and f%#$ing holiday lets have pushed price of buying up by more than 30%, compared to less rural areas. So here I stay, enjoying the solitude, the views, the joy of being home, when I'm out ofnthe house. Meanwhile, once inside , I breathe in damp spores, keep as much heat as I can with the log burner, and plan pay back ;)

There are laws against that stuff. We know as we are good landlords, maybe rules are diff up there.

Don’t they have electricity regs? etc etc etc.

I really don’t know why I bother she won’t see it, so I will give up right now .

I've got old stone walls, and has decent insulation in roof. Problem is I am renting whilst I search for my perfect home, and landlord is a douche. He hid rising damp with fresh coat of paint, new carpet, and loads of airing of house before viewing. Upshot is log burner is main source of heat as 70% of radiators can't be switched on. However, yhe scenery and view is fantastic :D
Golden Girl has been away since August. That's who I'm going to get. Only allowed to do the 4hr journey , as she is classed as 'essential'.
Four legged on hold. My little BC is keeping me entertained , but still want a GSD. Irons in fire but my favoured source are not homing at the moment, as they can't allow viewings.

Although the location sounds great the health drawback isn't... Sorry to hear this gold, à lack of guttering, outside paths and fans to draw humidity from the house will à contribute to that problem. I was going to ask about damp in the plugs, with no real footings in the walls there is no damp barrier from the ground either.
I know this info cannot not help you if the landlord is happy to skim his profits and not reinvest in what sounds like a really nice place.
Buy it off him? Or is it mega money?
I hope you can find a solution soon..
As for the golden girl, I thought you had previously picked her up, my mistake. So... À four hour journey ?? Get yourself a space suit for the train, plain, taxi or whichever your chosen mode is.. :D no corona!!!
Gsd, German shepherd?
Bc Border collie? Dog abréviations, that's a new one for me. :)

I can only guess what's afoot but it's given me a warm glow inside.what goes around comes around.,guessing @Datatek feeling the same.:D:D

Your right, normally à egr sensor position issue ends up in a new unit as it's normally an electronic fault but sometimes, just sometimes they can be cleaned and saved.
Thanks for the replies all appreciated.
Hadn't really thought about putting a second hand one on just figured if they are prone to failing I am just going to have to replace again in the near future?
Euro do a none genuine one for about £280 not priced a genuine replacement yet. Is it a big job to switch out?

Every day is a school day ;) I'll give you GSP, and AT to work out ;)
Damp is because owner is a cheapskate. Put a cheap membrane in 20yrs ago, which will have disintegrated by now. He doesn't want to do the work to bring place up to standard. I asked how much he wanted for the place. Took all my energy not to laugh at him, when he said. I did find a worrying thing : damp spores in the extension cables! So now being extra careful.
However, the view is beautiful :D
My 'bubble' friend is taking me to get Golden Girl. Got to travel through level 4s , only allowed as car is classed as essential . Especially due to remoteness of where I live.
Can't wait to have her back :)

It's a gamble on some non genuine parts. Some non gen are OK depending on their role but stuff is a no no. Don't forget that part has already served for 13yrs.
I couldn't tell you how easy or hard it is as I've not been near one yet. Sorry Mark.

Thanks Mark.

Just imagine if you did buy it and do the necessary to make it a great nest.
We already own high maintenance cars, the house is just the bloody same.. :D
Golden springer spaniel?
Argentinian terrier?
Just making stuff up:) I've no idea:p

:D GSP = German Shorthair Pointer, AT = Airedale Terrier :D

Buying this place is just not financially viable. He wants top price for it, as tip top condition. On top of that it would be a major renovation. Right back to outer walls, floors up, new damp course, new electrics, new windows, doors, roof, etc, etc. Would be as much to renovate , as to buy. At the end of which it would only be worth what I paid for it. :(
So whilst I love the location, I'm not looking for another money pit ;)

I guess land-rover is enough of a money muncher as it is. True the money invested into the house doesn't always pay off. Our place was bought for 45.000€ and after 15 yrs and completely being brought into the 1900'and 2000's from one plug and one light it's only worth 90.000€ we've spent a fortune and it's not yet finished. We won't get our money back but we don't want to be anywhere else. The kids, the family, the garage it's all here for us. Finding a place you feel is very important and I'm pretty sure you will when things settle down.
Nice size house, great garden for four paw madness and parking spot for a 3t l322 with teddy bears on it. :D

45k is slightly different to over £370,000 ,with close to the same needed to make it a home to go forward with ;) I asked the teddies if I have over half a million to spend on a house worth half that, and which is in such a poor state, it has made me ill :)
The teddy bears say No
