My Disco 2 ACE is leaking fluid, reservoir empty, orange warning light on, red sometimes comes on but reverts to orange if you restart engine. I'm not going to get ACE fixed, garage advise too expensive given age/value of car. So if I invest more money in this car I'm going to get the ARB upgrade, and this ain't cheap - between £500 and £750 plus VAT. I need to get through the next week or two on the warning light. Questions: 1. Is ACE independent of other systems or will I trash the whole car if the ACE pump seizes? 2. Can I easily isolate ACE by chopping its belt, and if so how? 3. Is the car unsafe with no ACE? 4. Will removal of the ACE fuse simply get rid of the warning light on the dash? Any help or advice appreciated. I reckon my Disco will soon be a Defender in Disco clothing if I keep removing these complex failure prone systems:)
