2002 defender td5 wont start

problem

stopped and started 3 times , then went for a while , evently stopped

2 weeks later started agian for 5mins then never went since

tried

new harness
checked fuel pressure
checked ecu for oil contamination
cleaned earth points approx 6 , is there any more to clean
checked relays
diagnostic test states is confussed - dident show problem
checked ecu from running tdi discovery landrover in my landrover and still did not start

help please the cows are starving

what diagnostic tester did you use?
possibly crank position sensor, but would expect that to show on a dedicated land rover diagnostic

how do you test a crank sensor to show its working , not sure what tester the garage used

it should show on a diagnostic check, but dont know what physical checks can be done,
a lot of diagnostic readers cant read the td5

what tester do you recommend to test the td 5 , thanks for the help so far , the landrover is still in my garage.

hawkeye or nanacom, some people on here have em if you ask, or a LR dealer or independant LR specialist

im having problems with the td5 , did start for a while then died again , , checked earths etc now going to check out ecu's , if l try a discovery ecu will l need to remap this before it will work. if an ecu is disconnected from the loom for a certain length of time will it need reprogrammed again
