2001 p38 will not start

Can any one help I have a 2001 range rover westminster the other day I got home jumped out the car and left my keys on the dash and front windows open next morning got in and she would not start

The engine light is coming on she is saying the key is in the locks are all working and the engine is turning over

My local garage is saying the only folt showing is the windows are not set but this has been there for ages

Any suggestions please my nearest landrover garage is over 2 hours away

Have you tried locking the car using the actual key (not the remote) then unlocking the car again using the actual key in the drivers door lock?

After gaining access as above you may then find that the key will start the car again?
