Hi all,
I've just fitted a 200tdi to my 90, and have fitted an Allisport
intercooler. I'm looking to increase the fuelling a little and know
where the adjustment screw is, but what I'd like to know id is there a
tamper proof arrangement on it before i try and turn it with the
screwdriver and snap the end off! I've tried persuading it gently with
a screwdriver but it won't budge. I suspect that there is a locking
nut or similar. Can anyone advise please??

Thanks

Dave

Dave Hi,

If you ask Andy (the owner of Allisport) he will be able to provide you with
the full instructions on how to do it.

An easy way to increase the fueling when on boost is to remove the fuel
pump's cover (the one held in place with the four screws) and turn the
diaphragm clockwise until you are happy but the car does not smoke too much
when you accelerate.
REMEMBER to mark the initial position with two dots (one on the diaphragm
and one on the fuel pump's body) using a permanent marker so that you know
where the diaphragm was before you have "tweaked" it.

You can also find some very useful instructions on how to further tweak your
fuel pump here

hope this helps

the adjusting screw on the bosch pump is on the back face above and to the
right of the injector outlets looking from the back, about in the 2 o'clock
position. There's a 13mm locknut on it, probably hidden under a seal of
some kind, you need to access that and slacken it. screw the screw in for
more fuel, out for less, about 1/4 turn max at a time, it's quite sensitive.

if it makes lots of smoke, you've gone too far...

The diaphragm thing adjusts the response of the pump to turbo pressure,
whether you need to adjust this if you've not altered the boost pressure I
don't know. Allisport should be able to tell you.
